A disciple of Christ, Thomas, was a skeptic. If Thomas had been born one generation later, or even living today, he would have burned in hell for all eternity because he would not believe for the lack of physical proof. Paul was born after the death and ascension of Christ. Throughout his life, he did not believe that Jesus was the son of God and even went out of his way to persecute Christians thinking that their religion was a dangerous belief system to practice. Lo and behold a flash of light came out of the sky and Jesus Christ himself appeared to Paul explaining to him that he is actually the one true god. Jesus told him that he was persecuting the followers of the only true faith. From that point on, Paul was a converted Christian. Again, if God was willing to go out of his way to physically prove to Paul that he actually exists, why is this not done today? Why isn't God willing to show those that doubt today the same degree of physical proof? Why should we be any different than Thomas and Paul?

Getting into Columbia's journalism/sociology/philanthropy program is literally my dream. i know of their low accpetance rate, and i know that they want TRULY outstanding students who do great things, hence i plan on taking my entire summer to go learn/volunteer in southeast Africa, helping kids/providing healthcare/etc. grades are easily do-able by anyone, so i'll do as well as possible in APs and SATS/ACTs and maintain a great GPA. another thing that compels me to go into a journalism is because i hate the fact that corporate news giants such as fox/cnn/cnbc etc. don't cover everything, and literally only tell people what they want to hear/ want the people to hear, and furthermore all these companies are controlled by so many other aspects of the market that it's ridiculous. hence i would want to do well in journalism so i could go work for a company like pulitzer which actually provides aspects of the news to the fullest extent, and with the most factual basis. so yeah, columbia alum would be helpful in answering, or anyone who has ties to the school. please tell me other things i could do to get in. Is it wrong to barrow money from family to pay for text books?

I have needed 2 text books for a month now, and thought I could wait until my loan came in to buys them. I was just informed that they wont release the loans for another month. By this time i will have failed both cles, and ergo lose what little financial aid i do get. I managed to get a babysitting gig but it does not pay nearly enough for the books. Is there a way to load the OLD style Gamecube action replay on Wii using Freeloader?

I have one of the old style action replays for the Gamecube that will allow you to input your own codes. Now i know it won't work on the Wii by its self but heard a rumor that you can use the Wii-compatible Freeloader to load the old (good) version of AR. I believe the instructions were something to the effect of "without the AR memory card inserted (the one from the old version that holds your custom codes) use the new Freeloader to boot the old AR up, after it tells you that the memory card is missing, plug it in (might have said slot 2) and it should load like normal, allowing you to use the old (good) AR with your custom codes. Has anyone tried this that can confirm or deny this rumor? I loved using the AR on the 'Cube and don't want to buy a new one without the best feature, CUSTOM CODES!!

The pilot bushing is pressed into the back of the crank and supports the transmission input shaft. Double check the rear of the crank to make sure it will accept a pilot bushing, not all small block cranks were machined for it. If it is machined for it, it will be about 3/4" in diameter and about 3/4" deep. If not, you might want to think about switching to an automatic transmission. Hope this helps. Christopher

Its a tough business! Sounds like you are doing all you can. There are several hundred thousand part time actors in the LA area all vying for the same break. It takes persistence and patients and in the meantime you need to get involved in community theater, acting cles etc. Very few make it "BIG" in the industry so you need as much experience and exposure as you can get to enhance your chances. Does the average young person actually have a firm understanding of all the ramification of their voting choices, or do they just respond idealistically to hype carried out in their names? Will they turn out this November? Or is it more likely that we will see the same trends as in previous Presidential elections regarding this demographic.

Should we make our dog an outdoor dog or find a good home for her?

We recently took our 16 mos old daughter to an allergist for a skin test. She's been having bad eczema type outbreaks and they've been getting worse. Well, it turns out she's highly allergic to dog dander. We have a black lab and they just adore each other. Our dog has been with us since we found her on the side of the road when she was 12 weeks old (she's 6 now). We just paid $1500 for surgery to have a cancer m removed from her leg to boot. The allergist suggests we get rid of the dog...he said we can put her outdoors but it will only clear up my daughter's problems by 80%. I know my daughter's health outranks my dogs but I have been getting so much information and stories from people in the same or similar scenario where they kept their dogs and made things work out and then I heard stories about how people got rid of theirs and then when the kid was like 16 they introduced a dog and things were fine. It's such a tough decision that I thought I'd never have to make.

I use clinique superbalanced and its all ive used other than cheaper foundations a few years back i can't even remember what i used lorel prehaps. I started using clinique as i found the cheaper ones i could never match to my skin tone i always ended up a darker shade. So one xmas shopping trip my mam decided to take me and get a decent foundation, first stop was clinique. She asked me a few questions about what my skin was like eg: oily,dry normal. so i explained and superbalanced was perfect for my skin type. She then tested a few shades on my face and came up with the correct shade for my skin. I use this for every day just put a thin layer on, for going out i must say i put a couple of layers but i would like to use a new foundation for when i go out( drinking/clubbin/parties) i was thinking about looking at M A C or chanel. Chanel i got a free sample of Matt lumiere and i thoght it looked stunning but i must say its on the pricey side so i think im gonna check both of them out and decided which foundation is best for a night out.

Does camphor or campho phenique relieve or cure angular cheilitis?

For about a week now I have noticed the little cracks and redness developing in the corners of my mouth, after careful research (intense googling) I have come to realize that my condition is most likely angular cheilitis. I have tried a number of remedies and treatments to solve this problem. I even tried the home remedy offered on several angular cheilitis websites (found the remedy for free luckily). My mom suggested I try using campho-phenique with drying action on the sores followed by lysine coldstick. I am wondering if this is an effective method to resolve my angular cheilitis. While the camphor does give me pain relief and seem to dry out the area I want to know if it will in fact resolve the cheilitis. Also is applying the lysine stick a good idea in addition. Any ideas to help relieve this irritation would be great but I really want to know if I can use the camphor and lysine without having to actually go to a doctor for something which seems so trivial and I have caught on to so early? I do have lesions which bleed if I open my mouth to wide especially in the early morning when a crust like scab appears to form around the little cuts.

Tell her, as soon as her clutter leaves her living quarters, YOU WILL THROW IT IN THE TRASH. enforce this rule with no exceptions. I also must warn you, that this is going to put a huge strain on your marriage. Especially since your husband seems to make important life decisions without consulting with you. You also need to have a pact with your husband, before they move in with you, that in the future, he backs YOU up 100 percent. Because any time a mans mother comes to live with you, she will put a strain on your marriage, As i said earlier. Anyway.. You need to firmly establish the ground rules at the start. Dont be shy about it, it MUST be done, or you will end up with a health hazard in your home, and a marriage in shambles. You MUST remain firm with your rules. Audi A3 1.8T surging problem?

I have a 1999 A3 1.8 Turbo. The problem with it is, (especially in 3rd) gear when I've floored it for acceleration, and lift off the gas, the car lurches forward. I've had it at Audi agents, and the only error codes they found were battery disconnect, and temp sensor. I replaced the sensor, and just in case, the lower suspension mountings, also the dump valve. It doesn't always do this, but when it does, it seems to do it just as the turbo has fully spooled up and is boosting. It now has no error codes now, but still does this, but not every time. The catalytic converter was cut out and replaced with a straight pipe, and that's pretty much all that has been done to it. What could the problem be?

I'm here in China right now. I have no choice I get my supplies from here. But I think I'll die early coz of 2nd hand smoking. They practically smoke everywhere, specially while in front of the internet, w/c I always stay. They light their cigarette at least half an inch creating too much smoke. Even if there's a child beside them they don't care. Poor children. Everytime I'm here my skin gets rough because of their smoke and I'm a very vain person. Landlord and maintenance fail to fix issues, what are my options?

I have been living in my current apartment for 5 years. The property is regulated by HUD. For the past 2 years we have had to deal with a major problem with cokroaches. This problem has gotten significantly worse. We schedue monthly exterminations with the office, but they cancel about 40% of the time and it has to wait untill the next month. We have contacted them about repairs needed and these have gone unanswered for 8 months now. I have recently found a newe place and my move in is the 15th of this month. I was unable to give a 30 day notice. I guess my real question is, What are my rights? and do I even have a leg to stand on if this gets nasty and ends up in court? O/D Off light flashing?

I am driving a 97 Mercury Mystique and as I was driving to work this morning and my transmission got up to 3200 RPM's before shifting to 2nd gear. then when it shifted to 3rd gear the O/D off light started flashing and then it started shifting like normal. erm its bit risky seeing as the they are chicks. The mother may reject the sent you left on the birds. Also the mother would probably not be able to find them unless it is nearby and she can hear their chirping. Its a bit tricky but if i were you i would leave them where they are seeing as they would probably not be able to survive. VA-Reckless Driving:Speeding in Fairfax County, what shall my fate be?

Was trying to make it to exams last night, and was going 85 on I-66 East. (I know, sounds bad, but really didnt seem that way at the time because everyone else is going about the same, at least 70). ok, so a few months ago i started dating my friend's ("summer")ex. now, before you immediately take her side, hear me out. she broke up with him, and she was mad as hell. apparently he called up her best friend ("tracy") and said that if "tracy" would kiss him he would break up with "summer". when "summer" found out about this she yelled and screamed and sank into a depression. eventually she hated him so much that she cruelly broke up with him. i dont know what she said to him, but he sank into a depression. i was worried about him, because he had some past problems with cutting, so i started texting him, checking up on him. then one night, he needed a self esteem boost, so i told him that plenty of girls liked him. when he asked who i named a couple who really did like him, but he said he already knew and wasnt interested. when he asked who else, i told him i did. he said he liked me too but hadnt known if i liked him so he didnt say anything. he asked me out and i said yes, but said we shouldnt tell our friends just yet, as i didnt know how "summer" would react. so the next day at school, during lunch we tried to sneak off alone, but his little brother followed us. when we finally lost him we sat on a curb away from everyone. my best friend came by then and figured it out and she was fine with it so that was a relief. but then we found out that his little brother had gone back and told everyone (including "summer") that we were making out. needless to say she was very angry and gave me the silent treatment for the rest of the day until i texted her and told her i was sorry for not consulting her first. she forgave me after i told her i was going to break up with the guy. she so graciously and kindly came with me to break up with him the next day, for "moral support". when i did, he took it well. meaning he didnt plead and protest, which would have broken me down. now we are friends again, talking and laughing together like normal, and the relationship hasnt been brought up in a long while. but the problem is i still have feelings for him, and i never got to experience a relationship with him. i want to get back together with him, but i dont know whether or not i need to ask "summer" about it. also was she overreacting or was i not thinking? i thought that if she broke up with him it would be okay for me to be with him, but according to her, the "wound was still fresh". opinions??

Where should I get my first dog/puppy from?

My daughter(11yo) and I are starting the process of getting a new dog.This will be our first.We live in a large 2 br apt(Phila,PA) but only have a balcony and no yard. We definitely are interested in the smaller breeds and have narrowed it down to a Bichon,Min Poodle,Cav King Charles,or even a small mixed breed.We have visited the local shelters, but most of the dogs there were wild, a little scary, and huge - mostly pit bulls.There are some rescues in our area and they even have some breeds we like, but they do not let anyone adopt without previous vet references. A good friend got her poodle mix puppy from a pet store - a pretty good one.Their animals are cared for by a local vet and come w/ health screening and guarantee. They also keep them in an open and socialized environment, not in those cages other pet stores use. I know pet stores are frowned upon, but it seems just as hard to find a decent breeder that sells puppies for a reasonable price: $400 or less. Help us find a pup

Actually, although this is mostly untrue, comets (a type of feeder goldfish) are bred to only grow to the size of their tanks. This is true; I have much experience in comets; however no other fish i know of or any reptile for that matter does this.

NEED HELP!! How can I tell if a baby rat is ready to leave it's mother?

I want to take two baby rats home from a place that uses them to feed snakes, but I'm not sure how old they are, or if they're inbred. How can I get a good idea of how old they are and if I can take them away from the mother? I also don't see them 24/7 so I'm not sure if they're always nursing off the mother, or nursing and eating regular food. I have seen them nurse though so I do know that they are still nursing, but their eyes are open, and they're moving around fairly well, so I'm thinking they're about 3 weeks old, but i'm not totally sure. Would it be a good idea to take them away yet? Because I'm afraid that if I don't do it soon that they'll get fed to a snake :( also will the fact that they might be inbred be a problem too? please help me! and thanks if you do :)

1: Reviewing procedure charts for Southern California, I see one of the runways, 6L If Im not mistaken, at LAX, is marked "DME required." So am I understanding this correct: Departures from this runway, per the chart, must always be a DME departure? what logical reason would FAA require a specific runway to specifically be a DME departure runway? Why cant it also be a GPS departure? meaning, while the pilot is achieving altitude, the co-pilot would monitor GPS and then advise the pilot when to make the turn to intercept the VOR. 2: Approaches: Is it required for pilots to get ATIS clearance to enter the cl B airspace at descent altitudes? Or can they just enter the airspace and proceed on their way toward the traffic pattern without clearance? I guess an example would be an airline pilot, whereby thats his regular route, and he's supposed to be there. hes trying to meet a schedule, he might be low on fuel, and it doesnt seem logical that they would deny him clearance to enter the cl B airspace (Airspace surrounding LAX, for example.) 3: aren't sectional charts and terminal approach charts redundant to a large extent? 4: In bad weather, do airline pilots transition from the VOR to the traffic pattern under instrument flying? or do Airline pilots most of the time fly VFR? ...my weakness at this point is correct controlled descent of the aircraft, and proper coordinated rudder turns for a precise intercept of the vor. I have to agree with the other comments. I'm a Physics major and I considered going into Animal Sciences as well. At my university at least, they only require animal science/pre-vet students to take two basic-level Physics courses, but more than that are required for Chemistry, so it would probably be better for you to get a head-start on the Chemistry, although either one would still be great for you to do.

I have a question about Purebred Dogs?

We are thinking of getting another dog friend, for Diego. Once his problems are solved. Probably a year or two. I live in Colorado Springs and bought my house about a year and a half ago. Back then, the gr was beautiful and lush, and it was like that until a few months ago. Does anyone know of a way to hook white lights around a pontoon boat that runs off a 12 volt battery?

I currently am using a green neon, 4' long light that floats straight down in the water for night crappie fishing. It doesn't work as well as white lights. I do have a couple of floating lights bought from Wal-Mart. What I would like is some way to attach or be attachable upon reaching the fishing area white lights around the boat that will be able to run off 12 volt batteries, i.e. car battery or marine battery. To avoid numerous answers based on opinion of my past I will clarify that I have been clean and sober for 6+ yrs. No longer involved in ANY criminal activity. I am married and support 3 children. I own and operate a small buisness I created and made succesful for past two years. So some of us do change. Now I'll start at the begining. I was a full blown alcoholic by 20yrs old. Always in legal trouble too numerous to list throughout 20s. Recieved felony DWI (3rd offense)in Odessa Tx in 2000. Accepted plea bargin for 4 year TDCJ tearm probated to attend substance abuse treatment and pay fine $987 plus a long list of other punishment included in terms of probation. I did not complete the probation as I was revoked for non compliance of the rules. I was sentenced to TDCJ where I served time until released to parole in Odessa. I succesfully completed parole and was given succesful discharge from the sentence upon completion. 2 years later arrested, convicted, served time in TDCJ for seperate offense of accessory to burglary 6 yr sentence. I will discharge from parole office in Midland Tx on this sentence in 3 months. When i reported to my parole officer after 4 yrs on parole he informed me that he recieved a fax from ector county compliance department stating I owed "$987 that were 3,514 days late". This is the first time I am hearing about it in all the the time I served on that sentence, time between, or in the 5+ yrs served on this sentence. I have been released from facilities that conducted background searches for this type of thing before my release and all came up clear until now almost 10 yrs later. I explained to ector county that the conditions were revoked and I served my sentence in prison in full. They persist that I owe the amount and that they will utilize my position on parole as a means to collect. It is not on my parole conditions to pay this fine. I do not know if or how I can prove this claim invalid. I do not question my guilt for the DWI 10 yrs ago. I just believe that I have payed for the crime and that they are motivated by greed to try to collect unjustly. I would like to prove them wrong but I'm not well enough versed legaly to put up a good defense. The judge is no longer a judge. I dont know who to appeal to. Should I hire a lawyer, possibly spend $$$ and still have to ultimately pay fine? Is there doents I can access to show I have already fullfilled my punishment. OR do I just submit and pay the fine, if so how do I prevent them from coming back later and demanding something else? Can they issue an arrest warrant for this sence Ive already served the time in full? Can they continue to har my present parole supervisor to threaten or force payment out of fear of violation of present parloe on seperate non related offense? It's a very frustrating situation! Because of my backgound and criminal record they are able to use coercion effectively against my freedom.
