If you want to teach at a community college, you'll need at least a masters degree - that's 6 years of college. If you want to teach at a 4-year college or university, you'll need a PhD - that's 8 - 12 years of college. But it might be hard both finding a place that offers a PhD in that and finding a place that needs a professor in that field.
