I would say any mode of transportation because to get from point A to point B was extremely difficult for anyone in the 7th century. As for women, well women are timeless in the sense that we all have egos and we like to be beautiful. Women before Islam used to beautify themselves (talking about Arabs) by filing their teeth, tattoos, henna, the making and wearing of jewelry and fragrances (like musk) They would probably just be shocked at how women care too much about that instead of religious obligations.
