Bacteria in the blood, status quo situation for 5 days, Good or Bad?

My mom was hospitalized with pneumonia, and the doctors discovered that she has bacteria. She had shock 5 days ago, but since then the situation is status quo... not improving and not worsting. How can i interpret this state? Does it go on good or bad?
