Why does everyone give me "the face" when I say I'm going to be a Cav Scout?
Last month, I joined the Army and scored an 87 on my ASVAB, which also had some personality test that said I should join as a mechanic, EOD, or Cav Scout. When it came time to choose my MOS, I chose 19 Delta (Cavalry Scout). Ever since then, whenever someone finds out I joined the army, they ask what MOS I chose. I tell them Cav Scout. I get tear-filled eyes shot at me in reply. My best friend cried when I told her. The Security Guard at my job started shaking (twitching, really) his head, and said "Why? You're a nice fellow". Army veterans ask, and when I answer, they just get that thousand-yard stare. I know it's a combat MOS, but is all this really necessary?
