What were the reasons for which jade goody had cervical cancer? was she not hygienic?

I can't say why she got it but I read she'd been ignoring hospital letters about an abnormal smear result for some time. Maybe she only had more tests after she collapsed and by then it was too far gone to be treated? I also understand poor male hygiene can be a factor.
