So i'm going to high school for the first time this fall?

i'm going to be a junior this fall and i've been home schooled my whole life. i'm a people person and i like meeting people and making friends so i've gotten pretty lonely and bored being home schooled even though i do have a couple friends i just don't see them much. I really hate being home schooled. so i begged my parents to let me try out public school and after a couple months of debating they reluctantly decided to let me go. i'm excited but also a little scared but not as scared as my mom lol who cried. i'm not gonna cry and be a p*ssy about it and go to school crying because then i definitely won't make friends. but does anybody have any tips on how to be prepared, what to expect and how to make the best out of this experience? thanks!!! oh i'm 16 and a girl by the way.
